Summer Concerts in L.A.

Don’t waste away a perfectly lovely LA summer evening stuck inside! Los Angeles provides plenty of opportunities to enjoy a night of musical entertainment under the stars. These four concert series allow you to listen to amazing live music all while enjoying the gorgeous weather and scenery of California in the summer months.

THE HOLLYWOOD BOWL

It’s no secret that I love the summer series at the Hollywood Bowl. I look forward to evenings spent with friends in box seats, enjoying fantastic performances while sipping a glass of California wine. This summer’s series will include a wide range of performances from the annual fireworks spectacular to a tribute to David Bowie, from reggae night with Ziggy Marley to a performance of Beethoven’s Ninth by the LA Philharmonic.

JAZZ AT LACMA

Are you a jazz fan? The Los Angeles County Museum of Art has a concert series for you. The enormously popular Jazz at LACMA series features a wide range of jazz musicians at this local museum. Bring your own blanket or chairs to enjoy this free summer concert series.

OFF THE 405 AT THE GETTY

If you like your music with a side of vista, the Off the 405 series at The Getty is perfect for you. Once a month, The Getty offers free musical performances from up and coming DJs and bands, all within the grounds of the gorgeous Getty Center. The garden stays open for visitors to explore, and later in the evening guests will enjoy the sunset from one of the best vantage points in the city.

TWILIGHT CONCERTS ON THE SANTA MONICA PIER

Spend the day at the beach, hit up the pier for some tasty treats, and then finish the day with a free concert featuring up and coming talent. The Santa Monica Pier’s annual free concert series is a local favorite for good reason. What could be more quintessentially California than a beach-side concert at sunset?

And these are just some of the concert series available in LA in the summer. On any given week, there will be a new performance to enjoy and a new venue to explore. Which of these concert series are you planning on attending this year?
